- The death occurred on Saturday, at Huntington Vicarage, near York, of the Rev. George Thomas Surtees Talbot, vicar of Huntington, and Vicar-Choral of York Minster. Mr. Talbot, who waa a graduate of Christ Church, Oxford, was ordained deacon in 1901, and priest in 1902. He was formerly curate at St. Chad's, Far Headingley, Leeds, till 1904, when he was appointed a Vicar-Choral at York, and in 1915 was presented by the Dean and Chapter to the living of Huntington. Although Mr. Talbot had been in indifferent health for several weeks, having undergone an operation for internal trouble, he was able to attend the Minster on Sunday a week ago. On Saturday last he had a seizure, and died in the evening. He was an accomplished musician, well known in musical circles in Leeds, and was on the Committee of the Leeds Festival. He was a performer both on the organ and the piano of marked distinction, and possessed a wide musical knowledge and critical judgment. He was a member of the York Musical Society, and sang in the chorus at the festivals, possessing a good baritone voice. Mr. Talbot leaves a widow, but no children. The great bell of the Minster was tolled yesterday afternoon after evensong in memory of Mr. Talbot. [Yorkshire Post]
