I John Kinder Tatham of Gloucester Buildings Old Kent Road in the Parish of St Giles Camberwell in the County of Surry being through mercy in good health so for the settling of my temporal affairs make this my last Will and Testament in humble hopes of salvation through the merits of my Blessed Saviour and Redeeemer Jesus Christ I leave and bequeath to my beloved Wife Mary Tatham my leasehold messuage or tenement situated at 12 Gloucester Buildings aforesaid and also my funded and other parochial property with my household Furniture and Linen Plate Books and China After the decease of my said Wife Mary Tatham without issue I give and bequeath to my Sister Martha Tatham the sum of one hundred pounds and to my Brothers Joseph and William Henry fifty pounds each Also fifty pounds to Maria Mallory Tatham Widow of my late Brother Lawrence Crew Tatham of Warwick. In case of the decease of my Sister aforesaid I wish the said sum of one hundred pounds to be equally divided among the surviving children of my late Brother Lawrence Crew aforesaid I nominate and appoint my said Wife Mary Tatham Executrix and her Brothers Richard Bord of Watling Street in the City of London and John Grove Bord of Bruton in the County of Somersetshire Executors of this my last Will and Testament to each of whom I leave and bequeath twenty pounds to Richard Bord and Jno. Grove Bord dated this twenty second day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight. 22nd Feby 1838. Signed John Kinder Tatham. In the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, In the Goods of John Kinder Tatham deceased, Appeared Personally Thomas Heath of the Bank of England Gentleman and Jonas Smith of the same place Gentleman and made Oath that they are the subscribed Witnesses to the last Will and Testament of John Kinder Tatham late of Gloucester Buildings Old Kent Road in the Parish of St Giles Camberwell in the County of Surry deceased bearing date the twenty second day of February one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight and now hereunto annexed and they further made oath that on the twenty second day of February aforesaid the said Testator duly executed his said Will by signing his name at the foot or end thereof in the presence of these deponents both of whom were also present at the same time and these deponents thereupon at the request of the said Testator attested and subscribed the said Will in his presence and also in the presence of each other in manner and form as now appears thereon. T Heath. J Smith. On the 15th day of June 1839 the said Thomas Heath and Jonas Smith were duly sworn to the truth of this Affidavit. Before me John Daubeny, Surr. Pres. C M Pearson Notary Public.
Proved at London 19th June 1839 before the Worshipful John Daubeny Doctor of Laws Surrogate by the oaths of Richard Bord & John Grove Bord two of the Executors to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn duly to administer power reserved of making the life Grant to Mary Tatham Widow the Relict the other Executor when she shall apply for the same.
