Notes: The Church of St Luke, on the south side of Manchester Road, was consecrated in 1845 on land donated by Sir Joseph Radcliffe, Bart. Architect W Walton; in neo-Norman style. The church is a Grade 2 listed building, and contains a stained glass window representing the local Armitage family. It is no longer a church building and is said to be used for storage.
