      Henry Humphrey Jackson was born on 10 March 1895 at Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England.
      He was the son of Brig.-Gen. Geoffrey Meinertzhagen Jackson and Jessie Cowper Coles Laird.
      He married Georgina Middleditch, daughter of Henry Howard Middleditch, on 9 October 1924. He died on 7 March 1969 at age 73 at Clay Cross, Derbyshire, England.
      He lived in 1901 at Tupton, Derbyshire, EnglandG. He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England. He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in desptaches. He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1918. He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1939. He fought in the Second World War. He gained the rank of, Lieutenant-Colonel in the 40th (Foresters) AA Battalion, Royal Engineers (TA). He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Derbyshire. He held the office of High Sheriff of Derbyshire in 1945. He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Derbyshire.
