    • The marriage took place yesterday at St. Martin-in-the-Fields of Mr. Roland Whitwell Wilson, second son of Dr. and Mrs. George B. Wilson, of Bromley, Kent, and Miss Mary Florence Wilson, eldest daughter of Admiral Sir Herbert and Lady Richmond, of Downing College, Cambridge.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore her grandmother's gown of cream faille. Her long net veil, edged with pearls, was worn with a tiara, and she carried a bouquet of pale pink roses. She was attended by three children -- Paul Vester and Anna and Penelope Plowden (her nephew and nieces), and by Miss Margaret Carey-Evans, Miss Margaret Barnes, Miss Jean Becker, Miss Lillan Lund (of Norway), and Miss Eleanor Purdy and Miss Hope Kitchen) of the United States). Captain Michael Barrett was best man. A reception was held at 45, Berkeley Square. [The Times, 27 Nov 1946]
