    • Thoume, Frederick Jeune, born in Guernsey December 8, 1842; son of James Thoume and Amelia Jeune; left 1852. Died in 1870 at Herm, then owned by his brother-in-law Colonel Feilden [Elizabeth College Register, 1824-1873]
      Note: In 1867 Lt-Colonel Montague Fielden became the tenant of Jethou and Herm. He brought forward the idea of a floating causeway between the two islands, and although the States gave permission it was never built. He was also found guilty of using the island as a storehouse for smuggling brandy and tobacco. [BBC programme]
