      The body of Julia Tatham was discovered in the Tutaekuri River yesterday afternoon. Inquest to be held this morning.

      Inquest: Held at the dwelling of Thomas Powdrell, Meanee, before Dr. Hitchings, coroner, & jury, on the body of Julia Annie Tatham, aged 31 years.
      Following gave evidence:
      - Thomas Powdrell - identified the body of Julia Tatham who had been residing at his house for the last 8 years;
      - Mary Ann Powdrell - daughter of Thomas Powdrell;
      - Henry Powdrell- Son of Thomas;
      - Mary Parsons - Daughter of John Parsons - Papakura;
      - Const. John Ryan;
      - Harry Lang - half caste, residing at Waiohiki Pa.
      Verdict : Found drowned.

      in the Presence of us, Charles Heathcote Tatham, Walter Williams [her mother's brother], Caroline Tatham, Maria Tatham, Harriet Tatham.

    • Berkshire, 582 tons, left London on 02 Oct 1849. Captain John White. She ran aground at Nelson on 01 Feb 1850. Her forward passengers were carried to Wellington by the Woodstock, and those for Otago, six in number, by the schooner Perserverance, arriving 12 Mar 1850.
