G. Christopher and of Mrs. Christopher, of Ropley Cottage, Goring, Oxon, will take place quietly at the Parish Church, Goring, at 2.15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18. Friends will be welcome at the church. [4]
    • The marriage took place yesterday at the church of St. Thomas of Canterbury, Goring, Oxon, of Mr. John Edmund Montague Bainbridge, R.A.F., only son of Colonel Norman Bainbridge and Mrs. Bainbridge, of The Coombe, Streatley, and Miss Elizabeth Rosamund Christopher, daughter of the late Mr. F. G. Christopher and of Mrs. Christopher, of Ropley Cottage, Goring. The Rev. H. H. Tweedy (uncle of the bride) officiated, assisted by the Rev. R. R. Walker.
The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr, John Danby Christopher, wore a gown of oyster-tinted satin trimmed with Limerick lace. Her veil, which also formed a train, was held in place by a wreath of orange-blossom, and she carried a bouquet of pale pink roses. Master Kenneth Spence, in an oyster-tinted silk shirt with Air Force blue trousers and tie, was the trainbearer. There were two grown-up bridesmaids, Miss Helen Christopher (sister of the bride) and Miss Joy Bainbridge (sister of the bridegroom). They wore picture frocks of blue organdie-muslin, with wreaths of blue flowers in their hair, and carried Victorian posies of blue and yellow flowers. Mr. R. Moberley, Royal Signals, was best man.
Mrs. Christopher held a small reception for relations of the bride and bridegroom at Ropley Cottage. The bride and bridegroom later left for their honeymoon, the bride wearing a delphinium-blue and white coat and dress, with a small blue straw hat trimmed with white. [5]
