    • The funeral service for Alderman William James Garnett was held yesterday at Quernmore church, Lancaster. The Bishop of Lancaster gave an address and the service was conducted by the Rev. P. Newman. Among those present were:- Mrs. P. Rushton (sister), Mr. and Mrs. C. Dunn (brother-in-law and sister), Major and Mrs. W. F. Garnett.
      Alderman J. P. Ennis (representing chairman, Lancashire County Council), Mr. J. L. M. Price (deputy clerk, representing clerk to the county council), Mr. Harold Jackson (representing High Sheriff of Lancashire), Mr. F. Eden Wilson (representing Under Sheriff), Father Gregory Wilkins (director) and other members of the Society of the Sacred Mission, members of the county, district and parish councils, and representatives of the Moral Rearmament and other organizations.
