    • Colonel Harold F. Salt, C.M.G., D.S.O., is to command the Territorial Army Air Defence Formations at Uxbridge. Colonel Salt's new appointment is a major-general's, and he will be promoted. He is commanding the artillery of the 54th East Anglian Division. Colonel Salt has had Staff apointments at Edinburgh, Belgaum, and Woolwich, and with the 10th and 11th Divisions and the 21st Corps.     • Major-General Harold Francis Salt, CB, CMG, DSO, Deputy Quartermaster General in India from 1936 to 1939, died on Tuesday at the age of 91. He was Deputy Adjutant General (Director of Organization) from 1935 to 1936. During the First World War Salt served with distinction at Gallipoli, Macedonia and Palestine.
      Salt, the seventh and youngest son of Sir Thomas Salt, was born on December 30, 1879, and joined the Royal Artillery in 1900.
      Salt did much to improve the London air defences as Commander, Territorial Army Air Defence Formations from 1931 to 1935. The four years he spent at Uxbridge saw progress in the reorganization and equipment of the Territorial anti-aircraft units.
