    • In 1915 Trevor J. Tatham, already trained as an architect, moved to Lee-on-Solent to teach at the Edinburgh House School on Manor Way. In 1921 he moved to 20 Manor Way with his family and pursued careers as both a teacher and architect. Between 1921 and 1939 he designed many houses and commercial premises, becoming the most prolific architect in Lee. Of all the local architects working during the inter-war period, Tatham's buildings survive in the largest numbers within the Conservation Area and make an important contribution to its special character.

    Notes
    • March 2008. A new booklet entitled 'Trevor J. Tatham, Architect, of Lee-on-the-Solent' by local historian Philip Eley, is now on sale.
Trevor Tatham was an architect who lived and worked in Lee between the wars. During that time he designed more houses and bungalows than any other architect - and around a hundred of his homes are still standing today. He was also responsible for shops and offices.
Trevor Tatham represented Lee as a councillor both before and after it became part of Gosport Borough in 1930. He also was a teacher at the Edinburgh House School in Lee.
The booklet is split into three sections - two are concerned with his life and work whilst the third is a gazetteer of his known works in Lee. It is illustrated with architectural drawings from the original building plans.
This publication will appeal to anyone with an interest in Lee-on-the-Solent, but especially anyone living in one of Trevor Tatham's houses. Priced just 1.00 it is available from the County Library branch in Lee High Street, and also at Elson Library and the Local Studies Centre (the old Gosport Museum) in Gosport High Street.
