    • From his subaltern days, Colonel Burrard was a versatile writer. After "Monkraven" had appeared in 1886, and "A Great Platonic Friendship" in 1887, he published his experiences of sport in India under the title "A First Bear Shoot in Kashmir". One of his later volumes, published in 1924, was a translation from the French entitled "Princesses, Ladies and Adventuresses of the Reign of Louis XIV", and he was also a composer of songs.
