C.B., 1918; living, 1922, at Catchfrench, St. Germans, formerly the estate of his uncle, Reginald Glanville. He served in Egypt, Bombardment of Alexandria, 1882; Medal, Clasp, and Star. Inspector of Recruiting, 1905-10. Reserve of Officers, 1914; During the Great War, he offered his services and was employed as Second in Command at Eastney Barracks, Portsmouth, Sep., 1914 to Sep., 1917, and was then appointed Director of Naval Recruiting at the Admiralty, and he remained as such until demobilised Oct., 1919. - Brigadier-General Arthur Glanville Tatham, C.B., late Royal Marine Artillery, of Catchfrench, St Germans, died yesterday at the age of 76. The eldest son of the late Rev. A. Tatham, he was born on December 15, 1856, and was educated at Marlborough. He served in Egypt and was present at the Bombardment of Alexandria. From 1905 to 1910 he was Inspector of Royal Marine Recruiting, and from 1917 to 1919 Director of Naval Recruiting. In 1918 he was made C.B. The funeral will take place at Bradoc on Thursday at 2.30 p.m. [The Times, obituary, 25 Jul 1933]
