    • 2nd Lieut., K.R.R.C., attached Royal Lanc. Regt.; b. 23 March, 1889; educ. at Winchester, 1903-7, where he was Commoner Six; he became clerk to Messrs Fredk. Huth & Co., Tokenhouse Yard, E.C. In Sep., 1914, he joined the Public School Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, and received his commission in the King's Royal Rifles in June 1915. He was wounded in Feb., 1916, and, in the following November, was attached to the Royal Lanc. Regt., on another Front, and while thus attached, he was killed in action, in Mesopotamia, during the attack on Liquorice Factory, 9 Feb., 1917, aged 27, unm. [Curtis]
