    • Colonel Charles John Willmer Tatham, of The Cottage, Long Melford, died suddenly on Saturday at the age of 75. Educated at King's College, Cambridge [not found in Cambridge University Alumni], and at King's College Hospital, he entered the Royal Army Medical Corps, in which he served for 30 years. He had a gift for organization. During the South African War he was attached to the Naval Staff, and directed the embarcation from the Cape of some 66,000 invalid troops. During the Great War he was Assistant Director of Medical Services, Northern Command, and was awarded the O.B.E. He left a widow, who is a J.P. for Suffolk, and one daughter. The funeral will take place at Long Melford Church to-morrow at 2.30 p.m. [The Times, 14 Sep 1936]
