Henry Stapylton, Rector of Thornton Watlass, and Marske, Yorks; born abt 1702, died 29 Sep 1783 age 81. 2 sons: William; John Stapylton.
      Founder in 1725 of Stockton law firm; passed in 1765 to his son John Stapylton Raisbeck; then in 1793 to his son Leonard Raisbeck, one of the promoters of the Stockton and Darlington railway. Firm taken over by George Newby in 1840 and still in business as Newbys Solicitors in 2013. [2]
