    Notes
    • Iva studied medicine in London, and when her sister Mollie in Canada was hospitalised with tuberculosis, the then Dr. Iva Molony moved to Saskatchewan and worked as a TB surgeon. She spent time in the Qu'Appelle valley where Mollie lived but worked a good part of her life at the "San" (TB Sanatorium) in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She did not, however, receive the same pay as the male doctors. When she complained about that to the hospital administrator, she was told that she didn't have a family to support so she didn't need as much money.
She retired in the early 1950's and moved to Vancouver after having trouble with breast cancer.
Iva was a valuable help to Mollie and her family throughout her life, and adopted Mollie's son Basil at a difficult time.
For a while she returned to England to assist her brother Basil in his bookstore, but after a few years returned to Canada where she, by this time, had stature, many friends, and a Canadian family that was missing her. Iva was a devout member of the Anglican Church. [9]
    • Remembered in 2012, by one who had seen her at the San when he was a child, as a "very tall woman, with very short hair".
