Educ. at Marlborough, 1873-6; then went to Mannheim, Germany, for 2 years, and then to Bordeaux for 18 months, returning to London and joining his uncle, William Tatham, in the old family business, Christopher & Co., in 1884, and becoming Director in 1893.
