    • From about 1893 to 1913, my grandfather, Walter Henry Ogston worked in the shipping office of a company in Bombay. In 1908 he went on leave and met and got engaged to Josephine Elizabeth Carter. He then returned to Bombay and returned the following year to get married in Aberdeen. I am in the process of editing three sets of letters. The first is from Walter to Josephine during the year he was in India preparing for her arrival, the second is from Josephine to him that year and the last is from Josephine to her mother after she arrived as a young bride in Bombay. I am in fact starting with this third set. I want to edit and publish the letters for other members of the family. Andy Philpot, Hamilton ON. [RootsWeb posting 23 May 2004]
