  • Notes
    • Great grannie Ward often used to travel up country with her husband, and she was doing so when Margaret Alice Waterfield Ward (always known as Marjorie for some reason) was born. She had no means of knowing that it was twins in those days of course, so having delivered the first baby (stillborn) it was wrapped up and put under the camp bed and a jackal came into the tent and took it off - hardy lot those Victorian ladies!
